Verona Comstock

Verona Ethylen Comstock, 93, formerly of Proprietors Field, Church Street, and a former longtime resident of Cheshire, died Sunday at Willowood of Williamstown. She had resided there since January 1997.
Born in Woodstock, Vt., on Jan. 8, 1908, daughter of Leonard and Gertrude Chamberlain Gilbert, she attended schools there.
Mrs. Comstock was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Her husband, Samuel J. Comstock Sr., whom she married March 17, 1927, in Bennington, Vt., died Jan. 24, 1988.
She leaves a daughter, Lois B. Lepicier of Williamstown; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, Samuel J. Comstock Jr., died Jan. 16, 1990.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 10 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown by the Rev. Peter Elvin, pastor. Burial will be in the spring in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, will be Tuesday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Comstock leaves her six adored grandchildren, Debbi Lepicier, Gregory Lepicier, Tina Rathbun, Keith Lepicier, Terri Beyer and Craig Comstock. She was predeceased by her son, Samuel Comstock Jr., in 1990, and a grandson, Kevin Comstock, in 1999.
