Hedy Lenz, 97, of Sweetwood Continuing Care Community, died Sunday at home.
Born in Vienna, Austria, on May 23, 1904, daughter of Alexander and Olga Saltzer, she attended schools there. She moved to the United States from Europe in 1938 to escape persecution by the Nazis. She had resided in Larchmont, N.Y., for 52 years before moving to Sweetwood in 1997.
Her husband of 62 years, Otto Lenz, is deceased.
She leaves two daughters, Katherine Levitan of New Lebanon, N.Y., and Richmond, and Veronica Allen of Wantagh, N.Y., and Richmond; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held in Dix Hills, N.Y. The burial will take place in Beth Moses Cemetery, Pinelawn, N.Y. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Hedy Lenz may be made to Hevreh Temple, Great Barrington, through the office of HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
