Priscilla Alice Gaylord, 80, of Pine Lodge Park died June 3 at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 30, 1921, daughter of Roland I. and Marion Melius Gaylord, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1939 and from the former Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing in 1942.
Mrs. Gaylord was employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room at NARH, retiring in 1973 because of ill health.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of the Eileen Barret Support Group. She also was a member and past president of the Bishop Memorial School of Nursing Alumnae Association. She won the 1938 New England AAU Backstroke Championship in Boston.
She leaves a sister, Gloria G. Kiontke of Bedford, Texas, and a brother, Donald Gaylord of Castleton on the Hudson, N.Y.
The funeral will be conducted Monday, June 17, at 2 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Williamstown, by the Rev. Peter Elvin. Friends may call at the church from 1 untiil the time of the service. Burial will take place in the family lot in East Lawn Cemetery, Williamstown. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Priscilla Alice Gaylord may be made to the Eileen Barrett Fund through the office of the George M. Hopkins Funeral Home, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
