Dingena van Luling, 84, of 478 Water St. died Tuesday at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in the Netherlands on Feb. 14, 1918, daughter of Bartholomeus Adrianus van der Blum and Dingena Verheoven van der Blum, she attended schools there. She emigrated to the United States in June 1950 and settled in Williamstown.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and homemaker.
Mrs. van Luling was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Williamstown, its choir, the Women's Society and was active in the various activities of the church. She was also a member of the Williamstown Friendship Club at Harper Center. She enjoyed music and crafts.
Her husband of 54 years, Jan Dirk van Luling, whom she married June 12, 1946, in the Netherlands, died Aug. 8, 2000.
She leaves a daughter, Dingena P. van Luling of Adams; six sons, John van Luling of Smithfield, R.I., Bart van Luling and Peter van Luling, both of Williamstown, Dirk van Luling of Concord, N.H., Christopher van Luling of Herndon, Va., and Robert van Luling of Gorham, Maine; a sister, Corrie Goede of the Netherlands; a brother, Dirk van der Blum of the Netherlands, and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Williamstown with the Rev. Wayne Earl officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Friday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for First Baptist Church through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Funeral Home.
