Grace R. Burdick

Grace Rosellen Burdick, 75, of Elm Street died Wednesday at home.

Born in Williamstown on Jan. 7, 1927, daughter of Lawrence E. and Mary Jane Smith Walden, she was a 1945 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

She was employed by Cornish Wire Co. and its successor, General Cable Co., for 44 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, she had been employed with the former Clark Biscuit Co.

Mrs. Burdick was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Williamstown High School Fabulous 40's, an alumni social group, and enjoyed walking.

She and her husband, Robert Allen Burdick, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary June 21.

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Lynn Marie Unwin of Windsor; a son, Robert Allen Burdick of Orlando, Fla., and a grandson. She was predeceased by three sisters and a brother, Mildred LaBonte, Esther Walden, Dorothy Walden and Lawrence "Buddy" Walden Jr.

The funeral will be Monday, July 22, at 2 from Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Should friends desire, contributions in Mrs. Burdick's memory may be made to the Williamstown High School Fabulous 40's through the office of GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 02167.
