Laura A. Beverly

Laura Amelia Beverly, 94, a former resident of Pine Lodge Park, died Friday at North Adams Commons.

Born in Williamstown on Feb. 24, 1908, daughter of Frank and Florence Lee Godfrey, she was educated in local schools.

Mrs. Beverly was employed by George Rudnick Dry Cleaners on Spring Street for many years until her retirement. In her younger years, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.

She was a member of White Oaks Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She also volunteered at North Adams Regional Hospital after her retirement.

Her husband, George D. Beverly, whom she married June 9, 1925, in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., died in 1970.

She leaves two daughters, Eleanor Dawn Hunt of Williamstown and FrenacesMae Brookman of Conover, N.C.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn G. Weld.

Following cremation at Mount Anthony Cremation Service in Bennington, Vt., a private family committal service for Laura Amelia Beverly will be held at the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
