Louise Treadway

Louise Treadway, 86, a resident of Sweetwood and Vero Beach, Fla., died Sunday at North Adams Regional Hospital after complications from surgery.
Born in Holyoke on June 14, 1916, daughter of William Ezra and Laura Louise Cole Bosworth, she graduated from Holyoke High School and attended Michigan State University.
She lived in Williamstown for almost 61 years, first on Lynde Lane and then at Sweetwood. Mrs. Treadway was a homemaker. She enjoyed birds and nature, crossword puzzles, knitting and reading.
Her husband, John Fowle Treadway, whom she married Oct. 4, 1941, is deceased. She leaves three sons, Richard Treadway of Sturbridge, John Treadway of Clearwater, Fla., and Timothy Treadway of San Francisco; two daughters, Mary Ellen Colt of Hanover, N.H., and Laura Moreno of Chappaqua, N.Y.; a sister, Joan Bevan of Holyoke; 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A family graveside committal service for Louise Bosworth Treadway will be held in October. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Environmental Learning Center through the office of GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
Mrs. Treadway also leaves two very close nephews, William T. Stinson of Williamstown and Peter T. Stinson of Belchertown, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a giving and selfless wife, mother and friend, and a constant companion to her husband, whom she cared for during his extended struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
