Frances Elizabeth Paradise

Frances Elizabeth Paradise, 81, of 94 Belden St. died Wednesday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Sunday.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 7, 1920, daughter of Harry DeMers and Margaret Downey DeMers Crews, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Nelson Crews. She attended local schools, including the former St. Joseph's High School.

She was employed by Photech Corp. until her retirement in 1987. Prior to that, she had worked at the former Dug-Out Restaurant in Williamstown. Mrs. Paradise was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown.

She leaves a son, William F. Paradise of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Shirley A. Reilly of Mansfield, Conn.; a sister, Margaret Todd of Manchester, Conn.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Frances Paradise will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, State Road, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Williamstown Community Chest in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William F. and Mary Jean Paradise of Boynton Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley A. and Michael Reilly of Mansfield, Conn.; four grandchildren, William F. Paradise Jr. of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Kelli Gomeau Corr of East Greenwich, R.I., Kathryn Reilly of Arlington, Va., and Michael T. Reilly of Mansfield, Conn.; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Gomeau and Makayla Mowel; a sister, Margaret Todd of Manchester, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Madeline DeMers of North Adams. Three brothers, Charles, Russell and Kenneth Crews, are deceased.
