Isabella Lancashire

October 17, 2002

Isabella Lancashire, 103, of 67 Smith Ave. died Thursday at North Adams Commons in North Adams, where she was admitted Sept. 2.

Born in Village Drum, County Monaghan, in southern Ireland, on May 30, 1899, daughter of Samuel and Sarah Jane Kells Lanchashire, she attended school there.

She came to the United States in her early 20s and settled in Northern Berkshire. Miss Lancashire was employed for several years as a nurse at North Adams Regional Hospital, and later for the American Red Cross.

She also was a home health caregiver for several area families. She leaves a brother, Stafford Lancashire of Ireland.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A service in living memory and thanksgiving for the life of Isabella Lancashire will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:30 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown by the Rev. Peter T. Elvin, rector. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Red Cross through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA. Survivors include nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
