Nora Scalise

February 23, 2003

Nora Scalise, 79, of 265 Luce Road died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield as a result of an automobile accident in Williamstown earlier in the day.

Born in Adams on June 10, 1923, daughter of George and Edna Boivin Kerr, she was a 1941 graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School.

Mrs. Scalise was employed in the field engineering department of the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams until retiring. She had previously worked as a secretary at GE in Pittsfield.

She was a member of Harvest Christian Ministries in Bennington, Vt. She and her husband, Frank R. Scalise, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 11.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Cynthia L. Hartnett of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Judith S. Bishop of Southampton; a brother, Roy William Kerr of Pittsfield; and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nora K. Kerr Scalise will be Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapel, with Robert Lebert, pastor of Harvest Christian Ministries of Bennington, Vt., officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 4 to 8. Memorial donations are suggested for Harvest Christian Ministries of Bennington, Vt., through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Survivors include four grandchildren, Timothy J. Hartnett, Tara L. Hartnett, Sarah A. Bishop and Ryan A. Bishop, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Gingras.
