Lauretta F. Moore, 92, of Santa Fe, N.M., formerly of Williamstown, died March 9 at home.
Born in North Adams on July 17, 1908, daughter of William G. and Odna G. Hamel Frenier, she graduated from Williamstown High School in 1926 and the Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield in 1929.
She married Harwood D. Moore on Nov. 13, 1929, and they resided in Williamstown. She assisted her husband in the family business, H.D. Moore Washed Sand and Gravel, from 1948 until her husband's death in 1982. She moved to Santa Fe in 1983.
She attended First Congregational Church and was a member of the Red Cross Motor Group during World War II. She was also a member of the Williamstown Visiting Nurses Association. From 1978 until 1982, she taught classes in afghan crochet at the Williamstown Friendship Center.
She leaves a son, Fred E. Moore of La Puebla, N.M.; a daughter, Nancy Moore Gehman Reilly of Santa Fe; a sister, Thelma O'Neil of Williamstown; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Louise B. Moore.
Funeral and interment services will be held in Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel at East Lawn Cemetery in Williamstown on Monday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, March 18, at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
