Harriet "Pete" Alderwick, 82, of North Cliff Drive, Narragansett, R.I., died Thursday at home.
She had been a docent at the Clark Art Institute for 20 years.
Born in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Maj. Gen. Ernest J. Dawley and Marion Webster Dawley, she was educated there.
Mrs. Alderwick traveled the world to satisfy her curiosity about language, music and art.
She enjoyed skiing, swimming, diving and playing tennis year-round.
Her husband, Peter H. Alderwick, is deceased.
She leaves four daughters, Gerre A. Klien of Providence, R.I., Debra A. Stinson of Narragansett, Leslie S. Alderwick of Taos, N.M., and Kim M. Alderwick of Sante Fe, N.M.; a sister, Gail Leonard of Falmouth, and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Harriet "Pete" Alderwick will be held Friday, Nov. 28, at 1 at AVERY-STORTI FUNERAL HOME, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, R.I. Burial will be private.
She was known as "Petester" to her grandchildren. She also leaves two nephews and a niece.
