WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Julia Susan Dolle, 100, of 104 Hopper Road died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Sweet Brook Care Centers, where she had resided since 1999. She was a former resident of 495 West Road in Clarksburg.
Born in Adams on June 28, 1903, daughter of Paul and Selma Thiel Scholz, she attended elementary schools there. She moved to Clarksburg in 1926 and resided there until moving to Williamstown in 1998 to make her home with her daughter, Phyllis W. Rhodes.
Mrs. Dolle had been employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams and the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Adams. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and flowers.
Her husband, Peter A. Dolle, whom she married June 7, 1926, died June 9, 1971.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Paul H. Dolle and his wife, Theresa, of Clarksburg; a sister, Wanda Dolle of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Patti LaValley and her husband, Peter A. LaValley, of Williamstown, Peter P. Dolle and his wife, Jane, of Clarksburg; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer LaValley of North Adams, Peter B. LaValley and Christopher A. LaValley, both of Williamstown, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Another son, Henry Dolle, died at age 5.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Dolle will be Saturday, Dec. 13, at 10 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department or the North Adams Adult Day Health Center through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
