William Lesser II

William Lesser II, 87, of 405 North Hemlock Lane died Friday in Naples, Fla., as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in Albany, N.Y., on Jan. 26, 1916, son of William and Marjorie May Lesser, he graduated from Albany Academy and, in 1937, from Williams College.
A longtime resident of Westchester County in New York and New York City, he moved to Williamstown following his retirement in the mid-1980s.
He spent winters in Naples, Fla.
A decorated Air Force veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, he served as a pilot.
Mr. Lesser was employed in sales, working in the hops and brewing industry and the packaging and display industry. He retired as president of Eastern Packaging and Display Co. in New York City.
He was a member of the Taconic Golf Club and enjoyed playing tennis.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Berkman, whom he married in 1975 in New York City; a stepson, Steven Roth of Weston, and two stepgrandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of William Lesser II, who died Jan. 23, 2004, will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations are suggested in his memory to Williams College, Williamstown, through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
Survivors include a stepson, Steven Roth, and two stepgrandchildren, Joshua and Madeline Roth, all of Weston.
