Sue Eleanor Elizabeth Davis, 82, of Sweetwood Continuing Care Community died Friday at home.
Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on April 22, 1918, daughter of William G. and Kathryn Walsh Crandall, she grew up in Waterford, N.Y., and attended schools there. She also graduated with a teaching degree from the former State University Teachers College, now the State University at Albany.
After her marriage, she moved to Long Island, N.Y., where she maintained residences in East Williston and Oak Beach. She moved to Williamstown in 1998.
Mrs. Davis was a communicant of St. Aiden's Church in Williston Park, N.Y., and a member of the Oak Beach Rosary Group. She was a member of the Oak Beach Gulls, where she served as historian. She enjoyed gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Dr. Lindon Lee Davis, whom she married Sept., 1936, died Nov. 29, 1975.
She leaves three daughters, Linda Lee Davis of Watertown, Laurel Susan Senger of New York City and Williamstown, and Melissa Jean Davis of Clifton Park, N.Y.; three brothers, the Rev. William G. Crandall and R. Lawrence Crandall, both of Waterford, and James Crandall of Phoenix; two sisters, Kathryn Schindel of Sun City, Ariz., and Jeane Kahler of Turlock, Calif.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Sue Davis will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown by the Rev. William F. Cyr, pastor. Burial will be at 1 in St. Paul's Cemetery in Mechanicville, N.Y. Calling hours will be at St. Patrick's Church, Southworth Street, Williamstown, on Monday from 5 to 8. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
