Polly Bell, 65, of 255 Hancock Road and Palm Beach, Fla., died Friday at home in Williamstown.
Born in New York City on Aug. 2, 1938, daughter of William B. Putney III and Peggy Russell Putney, she grew up in Scarsdale, N.Y.
She was a graduate of Miss Hall's School in Pittsfield and of Briarcliff College.
After her marriage to Frank S. Bell Jr., on June 16, 1962, she moved to Tuxedo, N.Y., where she was employed as a teacher.
She served on the boards of Tuxedo Memorial Hospital and the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults in Palm Beach, and enjoyed playing golf.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Christopher P. Bell of Washingtonville, N.Y., and Bryson R. Bell of Greenwich, N.Y.; two daughters, Carolyn Bell Curtis of San Diego and Anne B. Bell of New Haven, Conn., and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- An outdoor memorial service for Polly Putney Bell will be held at her residence at 255 Hancock Road, Williamstown, on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at noon. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miss Hall's School through the office of GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
Mrs. Bell was an active and loved member of the Tuxedo Park community for 30 years. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
