Louella J. Flanders

Louella J. Flanders, 90, a former resident of Berkshiretown Apartments in Pittsfield, died Thursday afternoon at Sweet Brook Care Centers, where she had resided less than a week.
She and her husband, the late Courtney Welch Flanders, operated the former Campus Inn on Hoxey Street for several years.
Born in Poultney, Vt., on March 9, 1914, daughter of Evan Henry and Hannah Griffith Jones, she was a 1932 graduate of Troy Conference Academy and attended Green Mountain Junior College in Poultney.
Mrs. Flanders also was formerly employed by Cedar Grove Hotel in Lake Bomoseen, Vt.
She and her husband were married in 1941. Mr. Flanders died Nov. 17, 1988.
She taught Sunday school at the Congregational Church and was a member of the Faculty Club of Williams College and the Williamstown Garden Club.
She leaves a daughter, Vallerie Flanders Harvey of Pittsfield; a brother, Hayden H. Jones of Poultney, Vt., and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Louella Jones Flanders were Saturday, June 5, at 11 at Sherman Burbank Chapel at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Interment was in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Survivors include a grandson, John Holden Harvey of Cleveland. Memorials in Mrs. Flanders' honor may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Center through GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
