Phyllis Elizabeth Cilli, 87, formerly of 121 Berkshire Drive, died Monday morning in the emergency room at North Adams Regional Hospital after being transported from Williamstown Commons, where she had been residing.
Born in Lynn on Jan. 23, 1917, daughter of Albert H. and Margaret Morton Reimer, she moved to North Adams as a child and graduated in 1935 from Drury High School.
Mrs. Cilli was employed in the children's department of the former England Brothers Department Store in North Adams until retiring. Before that, she was employed at the former Giant department store, also in North Adams.
She also had owned and operated a children's clothing store, Tots to Teens. In her youth, she had worked at the former F.W. Woolworth store and the former Sprague Electric Co., both in North Adams.
Mrs. Cilli was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was the first woman member of the Williamstown Board of Trade when she owned her store.
She enjoyed crafts, knitting and decorating.
Her husband, Anthony A. Cilli, whom she married Sept. 27, 1942, died April 26, 1998. They were married in St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams.
She leaves three daughters, Alberta R. Goebel of East Greenwich, R.I., Bette Ann Martin of Medfield and Cindy C. Tetreault of East Windsor, Conn.; a sister, Margaret Liles of the state of Washington, and five grandchildren
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Phyllis E. Cilli, who died June 14, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, June 17, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, by the Rev. Peter Elvin, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Survivors include her grandchildren Michele Martin, James Martin, Julie Tetreault, Michael Tetreault and Erin Goebel; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A brother, Morton Reimer is deceased.
