Marie-Frances Davis, 91, of 60 Chuckleberry Way, Stephentown, N.Y., a formerly of 587 Green River Road, died Monday evening at home.
Born in West New York, N.J., on Jan. 4, 1913, daughter of Frank J. Antonini Sr. and Josephine Giangrasso Antonini, she moved to Fort Lee, N.J., as a child and graduated from high school there. She also attended the former New Jersey College for Women.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1940, to Williamstown in 1958 and to Stephentown four years ago.
Mrs. Davis assisted her husband, Kenneth O. Davis, in the operation of the former K.O. Davis Music Store. Before her marriage, she worked as a laboratory technician at Seamen's Church Institute in New York City.While in Pittsfield, she was a member of First Baptist Church and the College Club.
She also helped establish a preschool program at the former Crane Elementary School and was a president of the Camp Fire Girls council. While in Williamstown, she was a member and elder of First Baptist Church and a member of the local League of Women Voters.
Her husband, whom she married Oct. 12, 1934, in New York City, died in Feb. 17, 1989.
She leaves a son, Roger M. Davis of Savoy; a daughter, E. Margaret Harrer of Williamstown; a brother, Frank J. Antonini Jr. of Fairview, N.J., two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marie-Frances Davis, who died July 12, 2004, will be conducted Friday, July 16, at 1 at First Baptist Church in Williamstown by the Rev. Peter Daniels, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams, will be Friday from 11 to noon.
Survivors include grandchildren Margaret Brooks and Holger J. Harrer, and great-grandchildren Rebecca Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Jeremy Vigiard and Autumn Vigiard. Two sisters are deceased, Josephine Antonini and Louise D'Emidio.
