WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Stanley Joseph Niece, 88, of 58 Orchard Lane died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Utica, N.Y., on May 3, 1916, son of Ignatius and Frances Rajechel Niece, he moved to Adams as a child and attended St. Stanislaus' School.
Mr. Niece was employed at the former General Cable Co. as an oiler in the maintenance department, retiring after 17 years. He also had worked for two years at GE in Pittsfield.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. Patrick & Raphael. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
He leaves his wife, the former Celeste Frances "Fanny" Famia, whom he married July 8, 1939, in St. Anthony's Church in North Adams; his sister-in-law, Mary Quinn of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Nellie Bassett and Bertha Organisky, and a brother, Louis Niece.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services for Mr. Niece will take place Thursday, Oct. 7, at 11 at the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial Donations are suggested for St. Raphael's Church through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, which is in charge of arrangements.
