Margot H. Archer

Margot H. Archer, 83, of 64 Sabin Drive died Friday evening at home.

Born in Passaic, N.J., on Jan. 28, 1921, daughter of Arthur and Julia Lakotsy Hanko, she was educated in the Los Angeles parochial school system, and graduated from Los Angeles Polytechnic High School and from Los Angeles City College.

A homemaker, Mrs. Archer was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church, where she was a past president of its Ladies' Guild and the historical secretary.

She also was a member of the Renew Prayer Group.

Her husband, H. Richard Archer, former custodian and director of the Rare Book Collection at Chapin Library at Williams College, whom she married in 1936, died Jan. 19, 1978.

She leaves a sister, Helen Brechel of Boise, Idaho.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Margot H. Hanko Archer will be celebrated Thursday at 10 at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in the Williams College Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial donations are suggested for a charity of the donor's choice through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, which is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a niece, Linda Brechel Nash, and a nephew, Mark Brechel.
