Sylvia M. Pedrin

Sylvia M. Pedrin, 59, of 70 Pines Lodge Park, died yesterday morning at the North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted on Nov. 11.

Born in New York City on Feb. 22, 1945, daughter of Robert Santana and the late Marguerite Hernandez Santana, she attended schools in New York City and graduated with a degree in education from New York University.

Mrs. Pedrin was employed as a teacher in New York City and Holyoke and moved to Williamstown in 1997.

She was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church in North Adams and enjoyed painting, music, playing the organ and piano and writing music.

While a resident of Holyoke, she held a Bible study at the Holyoke Community College.

Her husband, the Rev. Dennis Julio Pedrin, who founded the Faith Assembly of God in Holyoke and served as its pastor for 13 years and whom she married Aug. 23, 1975, died June 8, 1999.

Besides her father of the Bronx, N.Y., she leaves a sister, Miriam Simmeo of New York City, and her primary caregivers, Barbara Gibeau of North Adams and Darlene Brueggeman of Hancock.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Sylvia M. Santana Pedrin will take place Monday at 9 at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.

Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Sunday from 5 to 6. Memorial donations are suggested for the Bethel Pentecostal Church in North Adams, or the Scleroderma Foundation through the funeral home. She also leaves her cat, Ollie.
