Margaret Kelley

Margaret Kelley, 84, formerly of 84 Bachand Ave., died Thursday at Arleigh Burke Pavilion skilled-care facility in McLean, Va.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on June 5, 1920, daughter of William and Johanna Dawson Butler, she graduated from the former Bennington High School in 1938.

She had resided in Williamstown for 57 years.

Mrs. Kelley was employed for several years by the former England Brothers department store.

She was a longtime communicant of the Parish of St. Patrick's-St. Raphael's and a member of St. Patrick's Ladies' Guild.

She was active in the community, including with the Williamstown Women's Exchange and the Williamstown Garden Club.

Her husband, John Michael Kelley, whom she married April 26, 1942, at St. Francis' Church in Bennington, died Nov. 21, 2002.

She leaves a daughter, Kathleen Kelley Fallon of Colleyville, Texas; two sons, Michael Timothy Kelley of McLean, Va., and Joseph Butler Kelley of Vienna, Va., and three grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Margaret Butler Kelley, who died Dec. 9, 2004, will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 at St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial will follow in the family plot in Westlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, will be Thursday from 3 to 7.

Memorial donations are suggested for the Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation through the funeral home. Survivors include three grandchildren, Matthew James Fallon, Michael Johnson Kelley and Malyia Avison Kelley. She was predeceased by two granddaughters, Johanna Dawson Fallon and Mary Kathleen Kelley; five brothers, William, James, Arthur, John and Michael Butler, and a sister, Alice Butler Leete.
