Robert K. Tart

Robert K. Tart, 75, of Williamstown died Tuesday evening at home following a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 23, 1929, son of Raymond and Adeline Aubin Tart, he was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Tart was employed by Western Massachusetts Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 35 years, retiring in 1989.
He had been a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW and Kiwanis Club, and a life member of the Polish Community Club and American Legion, which he joined 54 years ago, all in Pittsfield.
He enjoyed fishing, cooking, golf and boating.
He and his wife, the former Pamela Benway, were married July 19, 1986, on a yacht off Niles Beach in Gloucester.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, John A. Tart of Clearwater, Fla., and Raymond "Chip" Tart of Pittsfield; two brothers, Raymond Tart of Pittsfield and Richard Tart of Lee, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no services or calling hours held for Robert Tart, who died Jan. 11, 2004. Friends and family are invited to gather Saturday, Jan. 15, from noon to 5 for a celebration of his life at the Polish Community Club on Linden Street in Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire, 535 Curran Highway, North Adams, MA 01247. He also leaves his daughter-in-law, Debra, and his grandchildren, Kalee and Kevin.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
