Lucy A. King 83, of 9 Windflower Way, Greylock Village, died yesterday at the Williamstown Commons, where she was admitted on Sept. 17, 2004.
Born in Springfield on Jan. 25, 1921, daughter of Raymond T. and Olive Geran King, she attended schools there and graduated from Classical High School.
She also graduated from St. Elizabeth College in Morristown, N. J., with a degree in home economics.
She served with the American Red Cross in California for several years.
She then taught in the Cincinnati, Ohio, school system. She relocated to Springfield, where she taught from 1968 to 1985 at the Classical School. Following her retirement, she moved to Williamstown in 1985.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was a member of the Williams College Faculty Club and served as a docent at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute.
She leaves three sisters, Sally Cramer of Williamstown, Joan Loveland of Houston,Texas, and Mary R. "Pinkey" Whalen of Los Altos, Calif., and a brother, Raymond T. King of North Wales, Pa.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Lucy A. King will take place in the springtime at St. John's Episcopal Church, Williamstown. Burial will take place in the family plot at St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams.
