Jack Vernon Beverly, 67, of Ballou Lane died Monday afternoon at home following a long illness.
Born in Williamstown on Jan. 28, 1937, son of C. Frederick and Frances Louise Sweet Beverly, he graduated from the former Williamstown High School in 1955.
He attended Williams College for three years until entering the service in 1958.
An Air Force veteran, he served four years with Strategic Air Command as an airborne radio and radar repairman of KC-93 tankers and B-47 bombers.
Mr. Beverly was employed by Taconic Lumber Corp. He also had worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. and Sprague Aviation in North Adams, Mohawk Valley Aviation and John Bottesi Construction.
He was a member of White Oaks Congregational Church and the Williams College Alumni class of 1959.
He leaves nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jack V. Beverly will be conducted Friday, Jan. 28, at 1 at Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown by the Rev. Penny Rich-Smith, pastor of Second Congregational Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the family lot in the cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 6 to 8. Memorials in his honor may be made to VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire County through the funeral home, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267.
He is survived by a nephew, Wendell Beverly of Murrieta, Calif., and a niece, Christina Coffee of Michigan; and two cousins, Nelson Beverly of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Leon Beverly of Stamford, Vt.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Howard L. Beverly and Wendell Beverly.
