Fleta Bragdon Wellcome

Fleta Bragdon Wellcome, 97, died Wednesday at Sweetbrook Nursing Home.
She had moved to Williamstown in 1955.
Born in Limerick, Maine, on March 15, 1907, daughter of Franklin Augustus and Sarah Frances Bragdon Chick, she and her family moved to Westbrook, Maine, where she graduated from high school in 1926.
She also graduated from Portland Business College in 1926.
Mrs. Wellcome had been employed by Williams College in the computer department, retiring in 1976 after 10 years of service. She had first worked for S.D. Warren Co. in several positions, the last of which was assistant to the manager of production control.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Williamstown.
She was active with the Cub Scouts and was a volunteer for the Women's Exchange and for the Recording for the Blind, all in Williamstown. She was also a life member of the Beulah Chapter OES 5, now Mizpah Chapter 3, of Westbrook, Maine.
She and her husband, Frank Lindsay Wellcome Jr., were married in 1945.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Stephen Gould Wellcome of Bolton; a sister, Eleanor Ross of Concord, and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Fleta Wellcome will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamstown Ambulance Service through the GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown, MA 01267, which is in charge of arrangements. She leaves her grandson, David Wellcome of Bolton.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Alton, Malcolm, Kenneth, Wilton and Willard, and her sisters, Louise Trafton, Althea Jess, Barbara Hannaford, Carrie Lott and Frances Ingram.
