Thelma A. Martin

Thelma A. Martin, 80, of 322 North St. died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Feb. 9.

Born in North Adams on March 29, 1924, daughter of Truman and Margaret Busby Wisher, she attended schools in Williamstown and graduated in 1942 from the former Williamstown High School.

Mrs. Martin was employed in the food service department at Williams College. She had earlier worked at the former Gevaert Co. for several years.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's and St. Raphael's Parish. She enjoyed gardening.

She leaves a son, Ronald P. Martin of Williamstown, with whom she resided; a daughter, Holly M. Atherton of Pownal, Vt., and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Private services for Thelma A. Wisher Martin will take place Wednesday, Feb. 23, at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Village Ambulance Service, American Cancer Society or Second Chance Animal Shelter through the funeral home.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Mark Atherton; a former daughter-in-law, Kathy Martin; two grandsons, Zachary Martin and Tyler Atherton; a cousin, Sally Busby, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marcella Foisey, and a brother, Bernard Wisher.
