Flora R. "Nani" Jones, 89, died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons.
She had formerly resided on Walnut Street.
Born in Bennington, Vt., on Dec. 10, 1915, daughter of Charles H. Jeffers Jr. and Rose A. Franz Jeffers, she was educated in Williamstown schools.
Mrs. Jones had been employed by Williams College many years ago. She had also worked at Gaveerts, during World War II, and Rudnick's Dry Cleaners.
She enjoyed flowers, animals and people watching.
Her husband, John J. Jones, whom she married June 1, 1935, died July 11, 1987.
She leaves three daughters, Judy J. Jones, Linda Brown and Rita Gardner, all of Williamstown; two brothers, Lawrence "Pete" Jeffers and George Jeffers, both of the state of Florida, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Flora Jones will be Monday, March 7, at 11 from the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Burial will follow the service. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 10:30 until the start of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the GEORGE M. HOPKNS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St. She had a great sense of humor and her family was her main interest. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend Fran Lewis, and her faithful dog Jennifer.
She also leaves two sons-in-law, Ronald Brown and Charles Gardner Sr., and her grandchildren, Charles Jr., Mark Gardner, Shelly Brown, Timothy Brown, Daniel Brown and his wife Heather, and three great-grandchildren, Joshua Parent, Jason Gardner and Nathan Brown.
