Marie Irene King

Marie Irene King, 67, of 88 Bachand Ave., a former longtime resident of 59 Hall St., died yesterday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Sandwich East, Ontario, Canada, on June 8, 1937, daughter of Laurentia Barrette Tatro and the late Moses Tatro, she attended schools in Canada and in Williamstown, where she moved as a child.
Mrs. King was formerly employed as a cook at Cozy Corner Restaurant. She was first employed by the former Howard Johnson's Restaurant as a waitress and then at Leo's Variety Store on Cole Avenue before working at the former Village Restaurant, also as a waitress.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Raphael's Church.
An accomplished musician, she entertained residents at several local nursing homes.
She and her husband, Leon N. King Sr., were married Nov. 3, 1956, in St. Raphael's Church.
Besides her husband and mother, of Williamstown, she leaves two daughters, Suzanne M. Hescock of Wilmington, Vt., and Sharon C. Michalenko of Savoy; two sons, Leon N. King Jr. of North Adams and John J. King of Dover, Del.; a brother, Gerald Tatro of Williamstown; a sister, Agnes Hanson of Williamstown; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Marie Irene (Tatro) King will be Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at 9:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Raphael's Church at 10.
Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 5 to 8. Donations in her memory are suggested through the funeral home.
Survivors also include two sons-in-law, Ricky Hescock and Lawrence Michalenko; two daughters-in-law, Mary Ann King and Karen King, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Tatro. Her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
