Louise M. Therrien

Louise M. Therrien, 82, of 1611 Sweetwood Continuing Care Community, formerly of 1685 Oblong Road, died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital in North Adams.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 20, 1922, daughter of Frank and Mary Morini Montagna, she was a graduate of Drury High School.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the former North Adams State College, now MCLA, in the 1970s.
Mrs. Therrien was last employed as the treasurer and tax collector for the town of Williamstown, retiring in December 1992. She had also worked in the research department at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for several years, then in the accounting department of the former First Agricultural Bank in Pittsfield.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick and Raphael's Parish.
She was an accomplished knitter.
Her husband, Edward Carl Therrien, whom she married Dec. 1, 1945, in St. Anthony's Church in North Adams, died Feb. 16, 2001.
She leaves two daughters, Frances Ross of Reading, Pa., and Gail Therrien of Mount Kisco, N.Y.; a son, John Carl Therrien of La Canada, Calif., and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Louise M. (Montagna) Therrien will take place Tuesday at 9 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Patrick's Church.
Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Graham Ross, Sam Dolby, Greer Dolby, Edward C. Therrien II, Clayton Therrien and Jordan Therrien. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian Trimarchi, Rita Parise and Anna Rougeau. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
