Mary Field

Mary Field, 87, of 395 North St. died Tuesday at Sweet Brook Care Centers.

Born in Springfield, Vt., on Jan. 8, 1918, daughter of Jerry and Margaret Lee Carroll, she attended schools in Granville, N.Y., and graduated from high school in 1933 at the age of 15.

Mrs. Field was employed by Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, retiring in 1980.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of its former Ladies' Guild. In her earlier years, she was a den mother for the Cub Scout troop in Williamstown.

Her husband, Harold E. Field Jr., died in 1981.

She leaves a daughter, Maureen Waddell of Sarasota, Fla.; two sons, Harold E. Field III of Williamstown, with whom she made her home, and Jerry L. Field of Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, Harry Carroll of Granville, and two grandchildren.

Another daughter, Pamela Irene Field, died July 9, 2004.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mary Carroll Field will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:30 at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams.

Survivors also include two grandchildren, Jeremy Waddell and Dana Wakiji; a son-in-law, George Waddell; a sister-in-law, Barbara Carroll; seven nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Marguerite Bascom, Irene Norton and Winifred Smith, and by a brother, James Carroll.
