WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Marjorie Rita Boucher Wheeler, 77, of 112 Riverside Drive died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was taken after being stricken at home.
Born in North Adams on March 29, 1928, daughter of William and Flora Morris Bressette, she attended the former Notre Dame School.
Mrs. Wheeler was employed by the buildings and grounds department of Williams College for about five years. Before that, she worked at the former General Cable Co.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a former member of the Eagles, both in North Adams. She enjoyed line dancing, playing bingo and taking trips to the Foxwoods casino.
Her first husband, Alfred Boucher, whom she married June 11, 1949, died May 21, 1996.
She and her husband, William A. Wheeler, were married June 23, 1998, at St. Patrick's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Candace A. Thayer of Pittsfield; a brother, Richard J. Bressette of North Adams; three grandchildren, Taber Thayer of Adams, Jessica Thayer of North Adams and Kyle Thayer of Clarksburg, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Esther Bemis, and by a brother, Albert Bressette.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Wheeler will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, by the Rev. William Cyr, pastor of the North Adams Catholic Community. Burial will be in the spring in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire, both in care of the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
