WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Donald Phelps Brookman, 79, of 370 Pine St., Springfield, a formerly of Williamstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born on Sweet Brook Farm on Aug. 4, 1926, a son of William and Myrtle Phelps Brookman, he attended schools in Williamstown, including the former Williamstown High School.
Mr. Brookman was employed in his younger years at Mount Williams Greenhouses Inc. in North Adams, and was also employed as a groundskeeper at Mount Hope Farm.
He attended the Second Congregational Church of South Williamstown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He leaves a brother, William R. Brookman Jr. of Conover, N.C.; three sisters, Phyllis B. Oleson of Williamstown, Emily B. Anderson of New Ashford and Dawn Fulford of Belfast, Maine, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private burial for Mr. Brookman will take place in the family plot in Southlawn Cemetery, South Williamstown. A memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.
