Helen V. Lanoue, 96, of 65 Gallup St., North Adams, died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Adams on Nov. 20, 1909, daughter of John and Sofia Kochanek Walczak, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Lanoue was employed in the textile industry for several years working at several mills in the area, including the former Berkshire Woolen Mills and the Strong Hewat Co.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church, North Adams.
Her husband, George Leo Lanoue, whom she married July 26, 1947, died May 6, 1988.
She leaves a son, William G. Lanoue of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Helen V. (Walczak) Lanoue, who died Feb. 28, 2006, will take place Friday, March 3, 2006, at 10 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Michalene Lanoue. She was predeceased by six brothers, Edward, Leo, Casimer, Joseph, Francis and Bruno Walczak, and a sister, Mary Walczak.
