Mary Harwood Cook

Mary Harwood Cook, 93, died Thursday morning at Sweet Brook Care Centers. She had been a resident of Devonshire Estates in Lenox from 2000 to 2002 and of Melbourne Place in Pittsfield from 2002 to July 2005.
Born in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., on Aug. 2, 1912, daughter of Edward and Monica Hagenbach Kelder, she was a 1932 graduate of the former Montclair State Teachers College in New Jersey. She lived in Closter, N.J., for 36 years before moving to Stuart, Fla., where she resided from 1976 to 2000.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Cook worked as a medical secretary for physicians in New Jersey.
She was a member of the Anna Miller Circle of the Stuart-Jensen (Fla.) Elks. She enjoyed crafts and reading.
Her husband, William Cook, whom she married Sept. 26, 1936, died June 27, 2000.
She leaves a son, William E. Cook of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Eleanor M. Yost of Lanesborough; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Harwood Cook, who died Thursday, March 16, 2006, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
