Patricia Anne Shine

Patricia Anne Shine, 74, of 146 Thornliebank Road, died Friday at home. She was a winter resident of Hutchinson Island in Florida.
Born in Boston on April 3, 1931, daughter of Stephen and Mary Love White, she attended schools in Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School in 1948. She also graduated from Chandler School for Women in 1950.
Mrs. Shine was first employed at the Massachusetts Statehouse in the treasurer's office. She moved to Williamstown in 1969. She was last employed as treasurer of Shine Wire Products in Adams. Before that, she owned the former Youthland Inc. in Williamstown and served as treasurer of Shine Electronics Inc. and Barney Shine Sales Inc.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick & St. Raphael's Parish in Williamstown, where she was a former member of St. Patrick's Ladies' Guild and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.
She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and at North Adams Regional Hospital.
She and her husband, Bernard J. Shine, were married Nov. 22, 1952, at Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Kathleen O'Brien of Sandwich; a son, Gregory Patrick Shine Sr. of Williamstown; two sisters, Geraldine Flanagan of Wollaston and Natalie Graham of the village of Brant Rock in Marshfield; and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Meredith Mary Shine, who died Jan. 21, 1984.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Patricia Anne Shine, who died March 17, 2006, will be celebrated Monday at 11 at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial, in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, will be private. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations are suggested for Pan Can (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. She leaves a son-in-law, Neal O'Brien; a daughter-in-law, Mary Shine; and six grandchildren, Lindsey and Lannan O'Brien, and Maggie, Patrick, Maeve and Molly Shine. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine White and Stephanie Durkin.
