Orrin E. Hall

March 24, 2006

Orrin E. Hall, 69, of 56 Bachand Ave. died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on Oct. 23, 1936, son of the late Orrin F. and Marion Stratton Hall, he attended North Bennington schools. He moved to this area in 1956.

He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and was discharged with the rank of specialist fourth class. He also served with the Vermont Army National Guard for several years.

Mr. Hall was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, retiring in 1999. Earlier, he worked for 27 years as a millwright at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in North Adams and a member of the Berkshire County Sheriff's and National Rifle associations. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, operating ham and citizens band radios.

He and his wife, the former Eileen L. Champagne, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 30.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Brenda Caron of North Adams; three sons, Stephen Hall of Adams, and Alan Hall and Curtis Hall, both of North Adams; two sisters, Ruth Reed of Arlington, Vt., and Sally Collins of Jamaica, Vt.; two brothers, Brian Hall and Donald Hall, both of Jamaica; his stepmother, Lilla Hall of Jamaica; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Orrin E. Hall, who died Friday, March 24, 2006, will be Wednesday, March 29, at 9 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Mr. Hall also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
