Rhoda Zablow

Rhoda Zablow, 95, of 1611 Cold Spring Road, died Tuesday at her home.
Born in Manhattan on Feb. 22, 1911, daughter of Louis Goldshein and Sophie Nizimowitz Goldshein, she attended schools in New York City.
She worked for the Administrative Courts for the County of Nassau. Previously, she worked as a legal secretary, and also was employed as the office manager for A. Lebowitz, Notions Co. in Manhattan.
In 1950, she relocated to Freeport, N.Y., where she and her husband, Nathan P. Zablow, an attorney, were members of Congregation B'nai Israel and were involved in politics and community affairs. Upon retiring, they often traveled to the Berkshires and participated in Elder Hostel.
In 1998, Mrs. Zablow moved to the Berkshires.
Her late husband, Nathan P. Zablow died in 1992. They were married for 57 years.
She leaves a daughter, Suellen Soloman of Williamstown, a son, Dr. Bruce Zablow of Chappaqua, N.Y., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private graveside service for Rhoda Zablow, who died on Tuesday, April 11, 2006,will be held on Sunday, April 16, at the family lot in Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y. The family will receive friends at 130 Forest Road, Williamstown on Sunday, April 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Dr. Paul Solomon; a daughter-in-law, Dr. Robin Zablow, and two grandchildren, Todd M. Solomon and Jessica Solomon. She was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Aaronson and Freda Goldshein, and three brothers, Samuel Gould, Irving Goldshein, and Max Goldshein. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
