Linda M. Raimer

Linda M. Raimer, 58, of 393 Swallow Hill Road, Pownal, Vt., formerly of Williamstown, died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital of cancer.
Born in North Adams on June 14, 1947, daughter of the late George William Beverly and Florence B. Ankers Beverly, she attended schools in Williamstown, and was a 1965 graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High school.
She then graduated from Charles H. McCann Vocational Technical High School Postsecondary Program of Cosmetology and became a licensed cosmetologist and hair stylist.
In 1968, she opened and operated Linda's Looking Glass, a beauty salon based in her Adams home, for 10 years. After moving to her family home in Williamstown, she was employed at the Village Coiff's. She later operated a day care center at her home on Ballou Lane. She then was employed by Headlines, and in 1990 she opened the New Attitudes Beauty salon at her home, where it remained for 13 years. She relocated the business to Colonial Cuts. She was last employed at Your Cutting & Curling Place.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick and Raphael's Parish. She volunteered at the church's bazaar.
She was volunteered for the "Look Good Feel Better" program, and loved crafts and making scrapbooks.
She and her husband, John M. Raimer, were married Aug. 19, 1967, at St. Thomas' Church in Adams.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Rebecca Raimer Sartori of Pownal, Vt.; two sons, Matthew Jon Raimer and Dwayne Edward Raimer, both of Goffstown, N.H.; three sisters, Virginia Ann Schwarzer of Cheshire, Bonnie Lee Cahoon of Clarksburg and Susan Jane Mader of Boylston; two brothers, George William Beverly Jr. of North Adams and Harry Louis Beverly of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and her mother-in-law, Alvina Turoczy of Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Linda M. Raimer, who died Thursday, May 11, 2006, will take place Saturday, May 13, at 8:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the Eileen Barrett Foundation through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
She also leaves a son-in-law, Joel F. Sartori; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Cox; three brothers-in-law, Bruce Raimer, Ralph Schwarzer and Charles Cahoon; nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
