Barbara Whitney

Barbara Whitney, 62, of 4220 North Torch Road, Coolville, Ohio, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va., after a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 5, 1943, daughter of the late George and Lulu Moffitt Bourdon, she moved to Williamstown as a child and attended the former Williamstown High School.
Mrs. Whitney was employed as a day-care provider in her home in North Adams and in Belpre, Ohio, where she moved in 1974.
She and her husband, Edward William Whitney, were married May 11, 1968. He died Sept. 18, 2005.
She leaves a daughter, Holly Ann Whitney of Coolville; two stepsons, William Whitney of North Adams and Alan Whitney of Williamstown; three brothers, Arthur Bourdon of North Adams, William Bourdon of Bennington, Vt., and Donald Bourdon of Edwardsburg, Mich., and several stepgrandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Barbara Whitney, who died Thursday, May 11, 2006, will be Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, May 17, from 4 to 7. She leaves several nieces and nephews, two stepdaughters-in-law, Cheryl and Lisa, and three sisters-in-law, Florence, Doreen and Diane.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved animals, including her Chihuahua, Rambo, her Chinese crested dog, Snoopy, her horse, Tanya, and her monkey, Julie.
