WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Helen Hazel Cutler, 96, of 84 Emerald Lane died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in North Adams on April 20, 1910, daughter of Thomas and Eliza Thomas Williams, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former Archer Elementary School.
Mrs. Cutler was last employed as a bookkeeper for the late Dr. Robert Brownsword. Previously, she had been employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., the North Adams Transcript as a proofreader, and the former Kwalitee Gift Shop in North Adams.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and its Altar Guild. She was also a member of the St. John's Guild in North Adams. She enjoyed playing bridge.
Her husband, Clifford Cutler, whom she married on June 6, 1931, died Feb. 27, 1976.
She leaves a sister, Ruth Crapo of Newport Beach, Calif., and a brother, Raymond Williams of Williamstown, and nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Brownsword, and by a brother, Thomas Williams.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Cutler will be held on Saturday, June 3, at 9:45 a.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, Williamstown. The Rev. Peter T. Elvin, rector, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, Williamstown, or a charity of the donor's choice through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
