Martha B. Beall

Martha B. Beall, 84, of 140 Scott Hill Rd., formerly of Kenilworth and Evanston, Ill., died Tuesday at the Sweetbrook Health Care Centers in Williamstown.

She was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 7, 1921, daughter of the late Herbert A. and Leona Tripp Boulter. She attended schools in Rochester, N.Y., and graduated from West High School.

She also attended the University of Rochester in New York.

She was employed at the Taylor Instrument Co. and the Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, N.Y. For 13 years, she served as the director of Christian Education for the Kenilworth Union Church in Kenilworth, Ill. where she was in charge of a school with over 700 students and 65 volunteer teachers.

She was an active member of the Kenilworth Union Church.

She was a member of the PEO Association and a member of the Kenilworth Neighbor Association. She was an active member of the Girl Scouts of America and served on its regional board. She was a member of the parents' program at the Joseph Sears School in Kenilworth.

She moved to Williamstown in 1989; she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Williamstown and was the director of the church's pageants.

She served as a docent at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, and was a member of knitting and quilting groups in Williamstown.

She leaves her husband of 63 years, James Raymond Beall Sr., whom she married Feb. 22, 1943.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Pamela Art of Williamstown; a son, James Raymond Beall Jr. of Glenview, Ill.; a brother, Bruce Boulter of Delta, Colo.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Martha B. Beall, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, will be celebrated in the fall at the Kenilworth Union Church in Kenilworth, Ill. Burial will take place in the Kenilworth Union Church Garden.

There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Martha B. Beall Children's Fund at the Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Ave., Kenilworth, Ill. 60043 or through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Ma 01247. Checks should be payable to the Kenilworth Union Church.

She also leaves a son-in-law, Henry Art, and four grandchildren, Andrew, James "Jamie," and Matthew Art, and Katherine Beall, and three great-grandchilden, Madeline, Annabelle and Henry Art. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Phelps, and a brother, Herbert Boulter Jr.
