Lena Grillone, 88, of 85 Langlois Ave. died Tuesday at home.
Born in North Adams on June 26, 1918, daughter of Joseph and Marie Famia Blasi, she graduated from Drury High School.
Ms. Grillone was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 32 years, retiring in 1992. Before that, she worked at the former Gale Shoe Co. in North Adams.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick's and St. Raphael's Parish and a longtime volunteer at the Women's Exchange.
She was a member of the Friendship Club at the Harper Center and enjoyed playing golf.
She leaves a daughter, Dona Stengl of Williamstown; a sister, Rose Mellin of Williamstown; and a brother, Joseph Blasi of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside committal services for Lena Grillone, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, will be held Monday, Oct. 2, at 1:30 at the family lot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Stella Hayer, Mary Bernard, Philomena Rotolo and Ann Blasi; and by two brothers, Dominick and James Blasi.
