Madeline Mary Bennett

Madeline Mary Bennett, 84, of 277 Luce Road died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in North Adams on March 22, 1922, daughter of James T. and Harriet Fountain Horrigan, she attended schools there.

Mrs. Bennett worked for many years as an assembler for the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1986.

She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of the IUE Local Retired Members Council and the Jollee Circle.

Her husband, Fredric Bennett, whom she married Oct. 11, 1969, died June 18, 1986.

She leaves a stepson, Bruce Bennett of East Haddam, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Lynn Woods of Kansas; and two stepgrandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Madeline M. Bennett, who died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, will be Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 9 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Francis' Church.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services through the funeral home.

She also leaves a niece, Virginia Wooster; two nephews, James Horrigan and Bernard Horrigan; and a sister-in-law, Bette Horrigan. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Bernard Horrigan.
