Werner Bacher

Werner Bacher, 81, of 1150 West Main St. died Sunday at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
He and his wife, Marina, owned and operated Chimney Mirror Motel.
Born in Switzerland on June 20, 1925, son of Emil and Linda Isler Bacher, he attended schools there and received an associate degree in business administration.
He emigrated to the United States in 1955 and was employed by several international marketing companies, including Cabot Co., from 1977 to 1987.
He spoke five languages and enjoyed traveling and working with stained glass. He was a collector of art and antiques.
He and his wife, the former Marina Zecchinel, were married July 20, 1974.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Katherine Fares of Richmond, Calif., and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Werner Bacher, who died Dec. 17, 2006, will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 28, at noon by the Rev. Peter Elvin, rector, in the upper room of St. John's Episcopal Church.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association, 919 North Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611-1676, or through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
He also leaves a grandson, Zacaria Fares.
