NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Doris Pauline Scrivens, 82, of 118 Church St., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at the North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Adams on June 9, 1924, daughter of Wilfred and Yvonne Robert Fountain, she attended schools in Adams. She later finished her high school studies after putting her son through college.
Mrs. Scrivens was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. as a supervisor for more than 30 years, retiring in 1987.
She was most recently a communicant of the Parish of Sts. Patrick and Raphael in Williamstown. A longtime resident of Adams, she was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and when she later resided in North Adams, she was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She was a member of the Friendship Club at the Harper Center in Williamstown.
Her husband, Clarence H. Scrivens, whom she married April 22, 1946, died June 2, 1989.
She leaves a son, Robert Allan Scrivens and his wife, Margaret, of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Juliane Scrivens of Brighton and Robert J. Scrivens of Williamstown, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian Brown, Nanette Davine and Lorraine Royal.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Scrivens will be held Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at 9:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial is in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
