Leonora Lucy Axt, 90, of 17 Ide Road died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Newton, N.J., on Sept. 16, 1916, daughter of Alvah S. and Stella Smith Keen, she graduated from Drake's Business College in Newark, N.J.
Mrs. Axt was retired as secretary to Greg Anrig, former superintendent of Mount Greylock Regional High School. She was previously employed by Prudential Insurance Co. in Newark and by Sears, Roebuck & Co. She also was secretary to the founder of Williamstown Medical Associates.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, the Williams Faculty Club, the Women's Exchange and the Melchior chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Her husband, Franklin D. Axt Sr., died Sept. 30, 1999.
She leaves two sons, Louis Axt of North Adams and Franklin Axt of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Leonora Lucy Keen Axt, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, will be Saturday, Jan. 13, at 10:30 at First Congregational Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, will be Saturday from 9 to 10:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts or to the charity of one's choice, both in care of the funeral home.
