Lillian F. Heiss, 103, formerly of 118 Church St., died Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Sweet Brook Transitional Care and Living Centers where she had resided since 2002.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 1, 1903, daughter of William and Josephine Dellmeier Seelig, she moved from Brooklyn to Long Island, N.Y., in 1924, and to Williamstown in 1964.
Mrs. Heiss was employed by the New York Telephone Co. prior to her marriage in 1925. She also worked at Gruman Aircraft Co. from 1942 to 1945 and Haskells from 1961 to 1964. She was last employed by Williams College, where she worked for three years.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and its Friendship Club, the Ladies Guild, and was secretary to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Williamstown Grange.
She was the widow of Frank M. Heiss, who died in 1960. They were married June 28, 1925.
She leaves a son, Everett F. Heiss of Pittsfield; a daughter, Elaine L. Trucker of Vestal, N.Y.; two sisters, Carroll Seelig and Miriam Schloeder, both of Lake Oswego, Ore.; six grandchildren; and nine-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Lillian F. Heiss died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in Williamstown. Calling hours are tomorrow, March 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Peter Elvin.
Burial will be Monday at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. Mrs. Heiss was a loving mother-in-law to Ann, and a loving grandmother to Patricia Payes, Joanne Trucker, James Trucker, Barbara Heiss Goodwill, Susan McDermott and Brian Heiss.
If friends desire, donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church in care of Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in her memory.
