Anne Marie Markarian, 91

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Anne Marie Markarian, 91, of 1080 Simonds Road, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at her home.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 18, 1915, daughter of Patrick J. and Mary Pellows O'Leary, she attended local schools, including the former St. Joseph's Grammar School, and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School with the class of 1933. She also attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Markarian was first employed by the former Strong-Hewat Woolen Mill in Clarksburg. She then transferred to the payroll department of the former Arnold Print Works in North Adams, where she worked from 1933 until 1941.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and served for a short time in its Women's Guild. She also volunteered for four years at Recording for the Blind. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She and her husband, Mark Markarian, were married Aug. 2, 1941, in the rectory of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Richard John Markarian of the state of Arizona and Paul Michael Markarian of North Adams; a grandson, Erik John Markarian of Randolph, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her siblings John F. O'Leary, Mary Durant and Margaret Scarbo predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Markarian will be Monday at 10:15 a.m. from FFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown celebrated by the Rev. Mark Burke, pastor.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Donations to the Village Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
